Around the same time that I got the Erborian Glow Creme that I reviewed a couple of weeks ago, I also received the A’pieu Base Maker as part of my Beauteque BB bag. This is basically a face primer with SPF. A’pieu is a sister brand of Missha and is targetted for those in their 20s. The brand caters to sensitive skin by including mild ingredients in its products. To make the products interesting, the brand also collaborate with popular animated characters like Doraemon and Crayon Shin-Chan.
The A’pieu base maker, however, is not one of the brand’s collaboration products. As you can see from the picture above, the packaging is just the classic and simple bottle that you squeeze the product out- nothing too fancy or complex. The one I have here is in shade #102 Bboyan.
The product itself has the consistency of a typical sunscreen- white and relatively thicker than most primers I’ve used. It really feels like you’re applying sunscreen. I think that might be because of the SPF content. It’s also a little sticky.
The first thing I noticed when I applied this to my face was the grey cast, which I am not a fan of (see below pictures).
As you know, the main purpose of a face primer is to help the foundation last longer during the day. I put the A’pieu Base Maker to the test! Below are pictures for when I had just applied my bb cushion on top of the primer, and then how the base maker performed throughout the day, as a face primer. Sorry for the different lighting for left side of the first picture below!
Since my face gets oily as the day goes on, I am always worried that my makeup moves around. However, with this primer, 6 hours after application, you can see that my makeup stays put.
In terms of coverage, I think this primer does have a good cover; it covers my blemishes and pores pretty well.
The product does have a scent, for those of you who are sensitive to scent. It has a floral/powdery scent at application, but I don’t think it lingers much after application.
I don’t like the white cast it gives upon application. I also don’t like the thick consistency. It does have good coverage, but I feel that there are other primers out there that also have good coverage and provides moisture that do not give a white cast. I am currently just using this up, but I will not be repurchasing.
